The Globe Runner Scholarship Fund provides matching grants and one-on-one mentoring to give highly qualified Albuquerque and Santa Fe area high school students the opportunity to study abroad. The Globe Runner Scholarship Fund is a component fund of the Albuquerque Community Foundation, and is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation.
Globe Runner Scholars study abroad on summer programs offered by USA-USA. The AFS Faces of America program provides a partial scholarship to high-achieving, low-income high school students of color, and other under-represented groups. The Globe Runner Scholarship Fund provides the rest of the scholarship funds for New Mexico Faces of America participants, and also provides funding for travel to the city of departure, passports, visas, and related expenses. Communities around the US have participated in the Faces of America program since 2007. With the Globe Runner Scholarship Fund, New Mexico high school students can now participate in the AFS Faces of America international exchange program.

In the summer of 2022, the Globe Runner Scholarship Fund sent its first two Globe Runner Scholars abroad to Spain. In the summer of 2023, 6 Globe Runner Scholars studied abroad, in Kenya, Spain, and Germany. Five Globe Runner Scholars participated in study abroad programs in the summer of 2024, in Egypt, Spain and Colombia. In the summer of 2025, the Globe Runner Scholarship Fund hopes to provide scholarships to enable 8 students from New Mexto study abroad.
