The Globe Runner Scholarship Fund aims to ensure that global education and study abroad opportunities are made available to all qualified students and are reflective of the diversity of our community.

The Globe Runner Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to underserved, highly motivated high school students from the greater Albuquerque area to help them build a global vision through participation in global education and international exchanges in countries around the world. International learning builds world language skills, strengthens confidence and independence, and expands individual horizons.

Scholarships will be awarded to high-achieving students. Half of each scholarship comes from the national AFS-USA Faces of America program and half from local funds. Students must be nominated by their high school or mentoring program. Scholarships are administered by the Albuquerque Community Foundation.

The Globe Runner Scholarship Fund is affiliated with AFS-USA to provide matching funds for eligible students to participate in AFS-USA’s Faces of America international exchange programs.

AFS Mission: AFS Intercultural Programs is an international, voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.
